Heather Alvarado is a Managing Director of Compliance and works with the Compliance team at Great Lakes Advisors to develop, implement, and monitor the firm’s compliance program as it relates to the Policies and Procedures of all departments of the firm. In addition, she coordinates the firm’s compliance with the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®), approves marketing collateral and RFP’s, and oversees internal and external audit requests. Heather also works closely with our parent company Wintrust’s Corporate Risk Management team and the entire Internal Audit department. She is a voting member representing the compliance team on several of the firm’s committees and is a non-voting member of the Wintrust Wealth Management Risk Committee.

Heather joined Great Lakes Advisors in 1999 after beginning her client service career in 1998 at Ammirati Puris Lintas, an international advertising agency, working on the client side and account management. She is a member of local compliance groups such as Women in Compliance and the Chicago CCO Group, as well as Women Investment Professionals, and previously served as an elected Board Member of the Lincoln Park Pacers running group for over ten years.
